Sightline Daily posted a plug for Seattle’s spectacular urban parks last friday, including a great shout-out for GSP! Read the full article to find out the Sightline crew’s favorite parks (we were happy to see forested Carkeek Park in the top three). The full spectrum of the Emerald City’s 400+ parks range from landscaped areas catering to moms with strollers to forested trails with “tall trees that provide a verdant escape from the traffic and bustle of the city.” We agree.
After describing the beautiful greenspace we are proud to call our own, the article made sure to give credit to some groups who have fought hard for them. Included in the role call: “The city of Seattle along with volunteers and nonprofit groups teamed up to form the Green Seattle Partnership to wage a war on invasive species that threaten to overrun and destroy native firs and maples, turning forested parks into deserts of ivy.”
