Make it a Day On

January 12, 2010

Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve. Visit MLKDay.gov.

“Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve.”

– Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Celebrate the life of a great service leader by volunteering in your local park or natural area. The Corporation for National and Community Service has dubbed Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, “a day on, not a day off” in honor of Dr. King’s vision of the “beloved community.” Here are some events coming up Monday, January 18th:

Burke-Gilman Trail Planting (northeast Seattle)

Cheasty Greenspace invasive removal with EarthCorps (southeast Seattle)

Cotton Hill Park invasive removal (Kirkland)

West Hill Skate Park Cleanup (Kent)

Also look for other events scheduled for the weekend of January 17/18 in Seattle.
